A 1:1 faster-curing deep-pour epoxy. Its data sheet allows layers of 1.5 in or less for pours of 2 gallons or more and 24 hours between layers, but the product page says it is not suited to deep pours over 1/2 in such as river tables.

What the numbers mean for a pour

Automatic planning is suspended for this product: its documents give more than one depth limit (1/2 in, 1 1/2 in, 3 in) for different applications or sources, and we do not choose between them. Read the published wording and enter the limit that fits your project in the layer planner.

The data sheet gives the mix by volume only. From the published specific gravity of each part, the equivalent weight ratio is 100:88.3 (A:B). This is our calculation, not a manufacturer figure; the mix ratio converter shows the method.

Where these values come from

  • Mix ratio by volume: TDS (Promise Fast Cure Deep Pour Technical Data Sheet (24HR Fast Cure Deep Pour Epoxy)), accessed 2026-09-30
  • Specific gravity or density, Part A: SDS A (Promise Fast Cure Deep Pour Resin Safety Data Sheet (Fast Cure Deep Pour Resin)), accessed 2026-09-30
  • Specific gravity or density, Part B: SDS B (Promise Fast Cure Deep Pour Hardener Safety Data Sheet (Fast Cure Deep Pour Hardener)), accessed 2026-09-30

What the manufacturer says

Paraphrased from the manufacturer’s documents.

Other notes

  • Promise Epoxy is a brand of Polytek Development Corp. of Easton, PA.TDS
  • The product page says the epoxy is FDA compliant for food-contact surfaces when properly measured, mixed and fully cured.Page
  • Unmixed resin and hardener have a shelf life of 6 months.TDS

Intended use

  • The product page says this resin is not suited to large or deep pours over half an inch, such as river tables.Page

Surface preparation

  • Porous surfaces need at least one thin brushed seal coat (Promise suggests its Table Top Epoxy), and the deep pour can follow 3 hours after the last seal coat.TDS
  • Do not use the product over oil-based stains, paints or urethanes.TDS

Layering

  • Clean between layers with at least 90% alcohol and let it dry for an hour before adding resin.TDS

Temperature

  • Promise recommends a 65-75°F work environment and fans on the project to help carry heat away.TDS

Heat

  • Bubbles can be torched intermittently for about 60 minutes after the flood coat, but heating later risks scorching the resin.TDS

UV and color

  • The product page claims superior UV resistance against yellowing, while the TDS warns unused material may yellow or amber over time.Page

Safety data sheet summary

Signal word: DangerSDS B

Part A hazard statements

  • H315 Causes skin irritation
  • H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction
  • H319 Causes serious eye irritation
  • H411 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects

Part B hazard statements

  • H302 Harmful if swallowed
  • H312 Harmful in contact with skin
  • H315 Causes skin irritation
  • H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction
  • H318 Causes serious eye damage
  • H361 Suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child
  • H401 Toxic to aquatic life
  • H411 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects

Protective equipment

  • Wear impervious gloves such as butyl or nitrile rubber.
  • Wear chemical safety glasses or goggles.
  • If ventilation is inadequate when using the hardener, wear a fitted NIOSH-approved air-purifying respirator with organic vapor cartridges; use supplied air for high exposures or emergencies.
  • An eye wash station and washing facility should be available in the work area.

Ventilation

  • Use both parts with adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep exposure low.
  • The hardener SDS gives the same ventilation instruction.

A summary, not the full SDS. Read the SDS for both parts before use and follow its first-aid section in case of exposure. This is not medical advice.

Where the manufacturer’s documents disagree

  • Maximum pour depth per layer: up to 3 in in small quantities; larger pours of 2 gallons or more in layers of 1.5 in or less (TDS) vs. Not suitable for large or deep pours over 1/2 inch, such as river tables (product page) (TDS, Page). The table shows the value from the TDS.
  • Full cure: Full Cure Time 3-5 days (TDS table) vs. Full Curing: Results in 2-3 days (TDS body text) vs. Cures in just 24 hours / Cure for 24 hours (product page) (TDS, TDS, Page). The table shows the value from the TDS.
  • Recommended temperature: room temperatures of between 65ºF–75ºF (TDS body text, twice) vs. Best Work Temp 75-80° F (TDS table) vs. room temperatures of 65°F-75°F (product page) (TDS, TDS, Page). The table shows the value from the TDS.
