What the numbers mean for a pour
Automatic planning is suspended for this product: its documents give more than one depth limit (1/8 in, 1/4 in) for different applications or sources, and we do not choose between them. Read the published wording and enter the limit that fits your project in the layer planner.
What the manufacturer says
Paraphrased from the manufacturer’s documents.
UV and color
- The resin has UV inhibitors but is not meant for permanent outdoor use or direct UV exposure, and it will eventually yellow.TDS
Heat
- The TDS lists a temperature resistance of 130°F.TDS
- The FAQ puts heat resistance at 120°F (57°C) once fully cured and recommends coasters.FAQ
Layering
- Pours thicker than 1/8-1/4 in need multiple coats; pouring thicker generates excess heat, bubbles, cracking and shrinkage.FAQ
Surface preparation
- Brush on thin seal coats 3-4 hours apart and wait 6-8 hours after sealing before the flood coat.FAQ
- Do not pour over bark or directly over oil-based paint or stain; seal paper items before embedding.TDS
Temperature
- For pours of 2 gallons or more, keep the room closer to 65°F and run fans.TDS

Protective equipment
- Wear impervious gloves such as butyl or nitrile rubber.
- Wear chemical safety glasses or goggles.
- If ventilation is inadequate, use a fitted NIOSH-approved air-purifying respirator with organic vapor cartridges; supplied air for high exposures.
Ventilation
- Use with adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep exposure low (both parts).
A summary, not the full SDS. Read the SDS for both parts before use and follow its first-aid section in case of exposure. This is not medical advice.
Where the manufacturer’s documents disagree
- Recommended temperature: ideal working temperature around 65-75°F (TDS) vs. Optimal product working temperature is 75°F–85°F; cure 72 hours at 75°F–85°F (FAQ) (TDS, FAQ). The table shows the value from the TDS.
- Working time: Work Time (100 gram mass) 30-45 minutes (TDS table) vs. you’ll have about 35 minutes (TDS body text) (TDS, TDS). Both statements are in the TDS; the table shows “30-45 minutes”.
- Full cure: Full Cure Time 3-5 days (TDS table) vs. Full cure and maximum hardness can require up to 5 days (TDS Step 5) vs. The curing process for our table top epoxy is 72 hours (product page) (TDS, TDS, Page). The table shows the value from the TDS.
- Temperature resistance: Temperature Resistance 130F (TDS) vs. heat resistance once fully cured is 120°F/57°C (FAQ) (TDS, FAQ).
